You want a job interview answer? To a tough job interview question?
We've got the most common tough ones here, with some great guidelines for impressing!

At this point, you should have thought about every job interview answer for each of the job interview questions on the previous page. The following job interview answers depict what a good thought process would be for answering them, and what things the interviewer is probably looking for from YOU!
"So tell me about yourself."

Take this open-ended opportunity to MARKET YOURSELF! This question usually comes early on, so this is a good time to set the tone for the rest of the interview!

You can either ask the interviewer if he has any specific areas he wants to know about. Or you can focus on your strongest qualifications, skills, and accomplishments. The point is to sell your experience here! Answer with work related experiences only! Don't start talking about non-work related material. If you do, you will waste the interviewer's time and your good chance to market yourself.

"What do you know about our company?"

Your prospective employer is trying to find out your interest level - but through the back door! For this job interview answer it is important to have researched the company beforehand, so that you can recite what it is they do, and make various plugs about how interested and exciting the opportunity is.

"What kind of skills do you bring to the table that are relevant fo this position?"

This is your opportunity to take all of your skills and experience and put them in a context to be well matched for exactly what the employer is looking for! This is the nitty gritty of the interview - and it is important to have a very STRONG job interview answer for this question!

I cannot STRESS how important it is to know exactly what tasks will be done in the position, and how YOUR skills will make you do it better than anyone!

"What weaknesses do you have in the workplace?"

Be very careful with your job interview answer on this one! The interviewer is testing your honesty, and also giving you an "opportunity" to fail. Quick hint : don't take it.

Turn this into a POSITIVE by revealing a minor weakness. Immediately go into the fact that you have worked on it, and you are getting better - list exactly WHY! Give specifics!

"What kind of environment do you like to work in?"

Another time to be careful of your job interview answer! This question is difficult to approach. You want to be honest, but not TOO honest!

Don't describe a work environment that is completely contrary to the work environment at the organization for which you are interviewing! Instead, you want to comment on team environment, meeting schedules, structured or un-structured supervision, etc. Be flexible on this one.

"Do you work somewhere now, or have you been looking for awhile?"

The interviewer is looking for two things here. They are prying to find out if you are looking at other organizations, but they are also looking for red flags! If you have been unemployed for the last year, they may wonder why - and it may count AGAINST you!

In your job interview answer, it is important to say that you are looking at other companies, and that you will keep all offers on the table while you evaluate the best opportunity - for you. If you have been unemployed for awhile, just make sure your interviewer understands that it was time well deserved, to re-energize for you next career challenge!

"Why do you want this position?"

The interviewer wants to be certain that you have some good reason to stay if they offered you the position.

Tell the interviewer what you expect to learn from this position. To do so, you have to know and understand the job description. Again, I URGE YOU to be intimately familiar with what they are looking for! This job interview answer should place your "wants" perfectly in line with the job description!
